Baby has the CROUP

I can't believe it's been months since I have blogged. ( Yes I can, we are talking about me!!!) I just can't seem to find time. The only reason I'm up now is I have to wake Weston up at midnight to give him his medicine. My poor baby has the croup and the last couple of nights have been rough. For those of you not familiar with croup, it is a respiratory virus that effects the breathing. A sure sign of the croup is coughing that sounds like a dog barking and a seal talking. We took him to the docs today and he has it pretty bad. She put him on steroids because he has strider which is the swelling of the windpipe. Yeah pretty serious. This is also very contagious!! Pray that my other two will stay well.

Egg Dying

We dyed eggs on Saturday afternoon after the big hunt. We set up the table with all the different colors and gave each one about 12 eggs to dye. They had this little wand that you were supposed to use to move the eggs with. Jackson kind of got the hang of his but as you will notice in the pics, Sissy gave up and went straight in with the hand. She had this nice mix of colors all over her hand when we were done. It has become a tradition with her to have colored hands on Easter as well as colored eggs. They had a ball dying the eggs and Weston took it all in with his nanny and grandad holding him.

Community Easter Egg Hunt

Our church sponsored a Easter Egg Hunt for the kids of our community on the Saturday before Easter, and we had the Easter Bunny come out and visit everyone there and let them take pics with him. The kids were all excited because they got to get their Easter Baskets out of the closet. We were dredding the whole bunny costume thing, because last year I had the bunny come out when we went to hunt the eggs and our kids flipped out. It was their grandad in the costume and they were still freaked by it. Things went better this year, bunny came out after the hunt and the kids all loved him. Savanna still would not sit in his lap, but she did stand beside him while he was holding baby Weston. Jackson won the prize for the most eggs found by a boy in his age group.

More St Pat's Pics

St Patty's Day 2008

The kids had a blast today because they finally got to wear those special shirts we bought a couple weeks back. They have been just itchin to get to wear them. They thought it was funny because I went to the church this morning in a frenzy because I have lost my phone (my lifeline) and forgot to wear green, so they got to pinch daddy when I got home. It was such a nice day today ,outside temp was in the low 60's and not to much of a breeze, so I took them out to play. They ran around out in the grass soakin up the sun. Jackson took a little bouncy ball out and chased it all over the yard and Savanna picked flowers and just kind of did her own thing. Momma set them all together for a little photo shoot and it took a little patience but I think we got at least one good mug shot of the three of them. Hope you had a great day like we did today. Enjoy the pics.

Grandpa's Visit

The kid's rarely get to see their Grandpa (Mandy's Dad) because he is an over the road truck driver and travels a lot. They think a whole lot of him and are always very excited when they get to see him. They talk a lot about their Grandpa and his big truck. Whenever Savanna sees a big rig she says that is Grandpa and Jackson tells her no it not Grandpa's Truck is red. He surprised the kids by changing his route up a little before Valentines and came by to see them for a few hours before bed time. He brought them candy because that always warms them up, and he sat and held Weston for a while then it was bed time. He read them bedtime stories before they went to bed. He had to leave that same night, but Savanna got up the next morning asking where he was, she wasn't ready for him to have left. They love every time they get to see their Grandpa. I hope you enjoy the new slide show of Grandpa and the kids.
